VoX: The Voice of Broadband More Information

How It Works

VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, works by transforming analog audio signals, like the kind you hear when you talk on the phone, into a digital signal that can be transmitted over the Internet and converted back to voice at the other end. Some VoIP services work with special software that enables you to use your PC speakers and microphone to “call” another PC. Other VoIP services, like the kind offered by VoX, work with an adapter that enables you to use a standard telephone to call anyone, anywhere. You dial the same way you normally would and the person you are calling doesn't require anything special to talk to you. In fact, when you use VoX, they probably won't even hear a difference. VoX's nationwide network delivers clear, dependable phone service at a fraction of the cost of traditional phone services.

Subscribing to a VoIP service requires a broadband (high speed internet) connection. You can use the same connection you use for your computer and still talk on the phone while you are online or when your computer is turned off.

Because VoIP leverages the power of the Internet, it provides advantages that aren't available with regular phone services. For example, you can:

VoX offers unlimited calling throughout the U.S. and Canada for less than $30 and all VoX plans include advanced features that typically cost extra with other providers. Plus, we provide huge savings on International calling. In fact, a block of 30 VoX Worldwide minutes is just $3.95. Get the details on our calling plans. more info
