CELEBRATION, Fla., December 5, 2005 – VoX Communications Corp., eLEC Communications Corp.’s (OTCBB: ELEC) wholesale and retail provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services nationwide, today announced that BriteRain, a provider of voice, data and integrated communications services, will market VoX’s VoIP services through a distribution network that represents a combined direct selling organization of more than 150,000 independent agents.
This agreement with VoX enables BriteRain to quickly expand its portfolio of telecommunications products and services with a highly reliable, scalable and easy-to-manage VoIP offering. VoX’s appeal also includes low-cost, flat-rate calling plans with advanced features that traditional phone companies charge extra for, such as call waiting, three-way calling and call forwarding.
BriteRain’s President and CEO Robert Mahler said, “BriteRain isn’t a typical master agent; we’re a super master agent. We provide our master agents with unique, next generation telecommunications products and services that they don’t already have in their tool kits to increase their portfolio of product offerings and value proposition.”
Mahler continued, “VoIP is a cost competitive alternative to regular telephone service. By adding VoX’s quality VoIP services to our product line, we are empowering our vast number of agents with a breakthrough VoIP offering that we believe will strongly appeal to their consumer, commercial, government and carrier customers.”
BriteRain’s Mahler has a successful track record of predicting trends in the telecommunications industry. He was the first to offer intrastate long distance service to residential customers in Texas in 1976. In 1985 he introduced the first fiber optic-based telecommunications services in Texas. He was also one of the first to provide bundled local, long distance and Internet access services to residential consumers via the Internet in 1997 with US DialTone. Mahler previously held executive-level sales positions with Talk America (NASDAQ: TALK) and VarTec Telecom.
“The management team at BriteRain has an amazing track record for identifying next generation telecommunications products that their agents can get excited about,” said VoX’s President Mark Richards. “We are confident that VoX will provide these agents with a level of quality and support that delights their customers, as well as the scalability needed to efficiently satisfy forecasted demand. We look forward to great success with BriteRain.”
