VoX Communications Adds Enhanced 911 Service to its VoIP Services Offering

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. and CELEBRATION, Fla., September 20, 2005 – VoX Communications, a wholesale and retail provider of Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) services nationwide, announced today that it has selected Global Crossing’s (NASDAQ: GLBC) new Enhanced 911 (E911) solution to supports its VoIP services offering. VoX is a wholly owned subsidiary of eLEC Communications Corp. (OTCBB: ELEC), an integrated communications service provider based in White Plains, N.Y.

“We are enhancing our VoX E911 strategy by partnering with industry leaders like Global Crossing to support our plans toward total E911 compliance and a nationwide VoX VoIP and E911 offering,” said VoX’s CIO Mark Richards. “We’re pleased to add their new E911 solution to our services offering so we can give our valuable customers this critical feature without having to install and maintain dedicated networks that connect to public safety access points (PSAPs). Now we can leverage Global Crossing’s existing connections, global reach and experience in delivering E911 services to deliver a complete solution to our customers that offer the highest VoIP reliability, cost savings and public safety features.”

This allows the PSAP to immediately identify the exact location of the caller’s telephone and dispatch assistance at once, regardless of the caller’s ability to communicate, when receiving a 911 call.

"We’re pleased to provide VoX Communications with our E911 service to help round out their extensive VoIP services," said Anthony Christie, Global Crossing’s chief marketing officer. "By leveraging our E911 solution, VoX can offer comprehensive VoIP services coupled with the same public safety features customers experience with their traditional, landline telephone service."
